Sampys Hill Speed Indicator Device Data
This is a page where we will display the latest data from the Sampys Hill SID. To be clear how this works…
The data recorded is the average of the speeds observed from first to last detection of the vehicle.
If for example:
1st reading 30
2nd reading 27
3rd reading 29
4th reading 27
The average will be 28.25.
The choice of using the average of the speeds is based on the common data analysis, that is to measure the centre of a numerical data set. It gives a more precise value as an answer, considering every value recorded.
We will be using this data not only to gage traffic speeds in and out of the village but also to make a case for the need for a pavement down Sampys Hill. Cornwall Council spent our money. So we need to get it back!
We will be summarising our learnings here so keep coming back to see more.
The following graphs are screenshots from the 18th June – 9th July.
