Mawnan Park: Final Concept Revealed!

We are thrilled to unveil the final design concept for Mawnan Junior Playing Field that we are now calling Mawnan Park! This plan is the culmination of months of community engagement, thoughtful feedback, and expert design by Earth Wrights Ltd. Together, we have created a vision for a play area that reflects our community’s values, needs, and dreams.

What’s in the Plan?

The new park design includes features for children of all ages and abilities, spaces for relaxation and gathering, and landscaping that complements the natural beauty of our village. It aims to be a space where everyone in Mawnan can connect, play, and enjoy.

The design also emphasises sustainability and biodiversity, with features that incorporate native plants, wildlife-friendly areas, and natural materials. These elements not only enhance the park’s aesthetic appeal but also support local ecosystems, providing habitats for birds, insects, and other wildlife.

A Community Effort

We are so grateful to everyone who participated in shaping this vision. From participating in our surveys, to taking part in the consultation events at the recent Design Mawnan Park and Village Fete, and sharing feedback on the initial concepts, your contributions have been invaluable and have guided every step of the process.

Next Steps

With the final design and masterplan in hand, we are now focused on bringing this vision to life. To make the new park a reality, we are actively raising funds to meet our match funding goal of £25,000. This funding is essential for unlocking larger grants and with luck beginning construction in 2025!
