Duncan Selbie, CEO Public Health England



Cornwall’s physical activity strategy aimed at getting 50,000 people more active by 2020, was formally launched in front of 100 delegates from across Cornwall.

Launching the strategy Duncan Selbie, Chief Executive of Public Health England said: “This physical activity strategy is really a health strategy for Cornwall. It will need everyone to work together as the NHS is not the most important factor for good health.





Inspirational Sports Volunteers from across the County have been recognised & rewarded at this year's Cornwall Sports Awards! Sponsored by University of Exeter and Truro & Penwith College

The annual event, held at The Headland Hotel, Newquay on Friday 4th November 2016 saw over 300 of Cornwall's dedicated volunteers, coaches, officials, organisations and young leaders from over 28 different sports come together to celebrate Sport in Cornwall.

RunTogether has been created by England Athletics, the National Governing Body (NGB) for running and athletics, to provide fun, friendly, supportive and inclusive running opportunities for everyone.

All of the programmes and services have been created to help people to run with others,  which provides motivation, guidance and support, as well as making it more fun.

Cornish Girl Kitty Odle



Kitty Odle has been named as the South West Sportivate Participant of the Year in recognition of her outstanding commitment to sport.

Having never played sport before, Kitty completed introductory coaching sessions in Equestrian, and is now taking part regularly, having joined her local club Polmartin Riding School.
