Making sport and physical activity a part of everyday life

Good news for Cornwall!

Active People becomes Active Lives and its good news for Cornwall!

New figures for participation in sport and physical activity have just been released from Sport England's new Active Lives Survey, giving new insight into how people get active across the nation, and show Cornwall and the IOS as the 3rd most active area.

The first round of the survey was completed by 200,000 people nationally and 1,000 people in Cornwall between November 2015 and November 2016, making Active Lives the biggest and most comprehensive survey of its kind.

NEW partnership to inspire more young people

Cornwall Sports Partnership

Cornwall Sports Partnership (CSP) are pleased to announce a new partnership with the University of Exeter to inspire more young people to be engaged in PE and school sport through the School Games.

The University of Exeter, which has two campuses in Cornwall – Penryn and Truro, will sponsor the Cornwall School Games for the next three years to enable more young people to be inspired by PE and school sport.

The latest from Sport England

Following the release of the Governments 'Sporting Future: a new Strategy for an Active Nation' at the end of 2015 Sport England (SE) have been doing a lot of detailed work and released their own strategy earlier this year 'Towards an Active Nation'.

Recently we are starting to see a number of announcements regarding programmes, toolkits and funding connected to these strategies that demonstrate how you can help them deliver their strategy and create a more active Cornwall.

Sportivate Year 7 is here!

Cornwall Sports Partnership

Sportivate is a national programme to encourage more young people to take up sport and physical activity and we have funds to help!

Year 7 is targeting inactive females, those with a disability or low socio-economic groups aged 11 - 25 years old who do less than 4 x 30 mins of activity per month.

If you are from an organisation that engages this group of young people or know someone that does then please get in touch and we can do the rest to get them active!
